Superheroes, epic high fantasy, magical high schools, zombies, supernatural romance, fairy tales, board games… What do you think is the next pop culture bandwagon that Hollywood will leap onto? In the aftermath of Fifty Shades of Grey, should we brace ourselves for a flurry of R-rated erotic tales? Alternatively, what trend (past, present, future) would you like to see done right on the big screen?

It depends on what will be a success. If Superman and Django Unchained do very well, maybe we’ll see more DC comic films and westerns show up. Personally I think we’ll see a rise in apocalyptic films as times get harder. And the brief return of the R-Rated film is also overdue.

I see a lot of novels hitting the big screen, unfortunately this includes 50 Shades of Mommy Porn.

Everybody has been trying to find the next Twilight, and over the last month or two, I have done more too many stories optioning YA novels featuring some cheesy love story wrapped up in lite sci-fi/fantasy tropes.

Buddy Cop movies where the two lead characters are a cat and a dog… we haven’t seen that in a while…
