Two years ago Modern Warfare 2 was the number one game on the top 10 video games sold in 2009, beating games such as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV.
Now according the latest issue of PSM3, Activision are set to announce the third instalment in the Modern Warfare series this April.
The PSM3 Insider column said, “The next in Activision’s megaton FPS series will be announced in mid-April.” PSM3 adds, “Based on the ending of MW2, we’d be surprised if the story doesn’t pick up with Soap and Price on the run, after they were set up by General Shepherd.”
Infinity Ward have also been rumoured to be doing a Call of Duty 4 prequel based on Ghost under the title of Modern Warfare 3.
