Firstly, I have no idea how this trailer for Kristen Bell’s new upcoming comedy series The Good Place passed me by last month, but luckily though a friend pointed it out to me over the weekend. Secondly, I am not a good person. There are very few things in life that get me to laugh as hard as watching people fall down comically. I’m that guy that does the point-and-laugh when you accidentally walk into a closed glass door, and I’ve called Nick enough mean names that it’s amazing he still calls me master (Ah, he’s such a faithful little house elf).
In other words, I probably have a long standing reservation down to You-Know-Where once I shuffle from this mortal coil. But what if somebody got it all wrong and accidentally booked me a ticket on the ride up and not down? That’s what happens to Kristen Bell’s hilariously mean-spirited… well, spirit, in The Good Place, allowing heavenly hilarity to ensue!

That actually looks quite funny! My only concern is that the premise seems like it would be better suited to a movie than a TV series, and it will be interesting to see how they can keep it up over a season. NBC appears to have faith (yuk yuk) though and has ordered a 13-episode first season of the show which is to debut on September 19.
The Good Place was created by Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-creator Mike Schur – who also worked extensively on Saturday Night Live, The Office and Parks & Rec – and also stars Ted Danson, Jameela Jamil and William Jackson Harper.
