Shane Morris’ epic road trip tale of drugs, an old van and gangsters might be developed into a film

By Darryn Bonthuys
May 22, 2019 - 6 years ago

Over on Twitter, Shane Morris posted a story of how one road trip began with a pair of motorcycles and ended with a camper van that had a brick of heroin hidden inside of it. The tale only gets madder from there, as Morris recounts the ballsiest showdown he ever had with a gangbanger, how he scammed that gangster out of cash and managed to get away from a deal that could very easily have ended with him bleeding to death inside of a dingy motel room.

Grumpy Cat, the internet’s most famous feline, has died

By Darryn Bonthuys
May 17, 2019 - 6 years ago

Cats are amazing little fluffballs. They’re essentially the blueprint for the perfect murder machine, albeit at a size that makes them thankfully manageable to handle. More than just keen hunters, cats are amazing companions who have an incredible effect on the human psyche. There’s nothing more soothing than having a feline jump on top of you, make some bread on …

No need to travel to Asia for a cat café experience. You can get your dose of feline affection (and by that we mean cool tolerance to outright disdain) at Cat Heaven, located not far from Cape Town.

By Darryn Bonthuys
May 15, 2019 - 6 years ago

We’ve all watched porn, and there’s nothing wrong with that. When you’re of the right age and of sound mind, there’s nothing to be ashamed about. It’s just porn. Unless you’re in government, which is currently in full “WON’T ANYONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN” mode currently.

Government to regulate Airbnb with new regulations that are aimed at levelling the playing field

By Darryn Bonthuys
April 16, 2019 - 6 years ago

It’s absolutely amazing, how when one new idea takes root and provides a disruption to the status quo, the old guard rushes to squash it as quickly as possible. Take AirBnB for instance. What you’ve got, is the Uber of hotel rooms. People are free to create their own guest lodge, prospective tenants can save cash when they rent a residential room for the night and everyone is happy. Unless you’re a hotel chain of course.

Friday Flamebait Debate: What popular foods just aren’t worth eating?

By Geoffrey Tim
April 12, 2019 - 6 years ago

Because I’m a grumpy old bastard, there are few things in life that give me great pleasure. If there’s one thing that never fails to engage my senses, it’s food. All sorts of food. I love high end cuisine, cheap street food and everything in between. I love trying new things in the hope of finding a previously undiscovered culinary delight. Food isn’t just sustenance, it’s one of the things that makes life worth living.
