History points to a Xbox 360 price cut

By Gavin Mannion
June 7, 2007 - 18 years ago

While the gaming world is screaming for a PS3 price cut it seams that the Xbox 360 is about to break a record… and it’s not a good one. If the 360 passes July without a price cut it will be the first console to last this long without cutting it’s price. I for one don’t expect a price cut …

Will the PS3's sales ever stop dropping?

By Gavin Mannion
June 7, 2007 - 18 years ago

Looking at the worldwide sales of all the platforms one things becomes blatantly apparent.. The PS3 is struggling…. From a high of over 500,000 units shipped in one week on the PAL launch week it has now dropped to 44k a week… Two things are worrying about this. Firstly that is by far the lowest sales of all the consoles.. The Wii is selling 235k …

By Gavin Mannion
June 6, 2007 - 18 years ago

There are rumours of a major PS3 announcement that will change the fortunes of Sony coming on the 11th of June.. Well after the ridiculous Pac Man announcement from Microsoft I wouldn’t hold your breath. It doesn’t seem like a price cut either so what could it be? Solitaire?  Link to Video Gamers of America

Sony Offers Shops Prizes For Pushing PS3 Units

By Gavin Mannion
June 6, 2007 - 18 years ago

Now I have no idea how legal this would, be but I am pretty sure Microsoft and Nintendo are busy finding out, but it seems like Sony is offering extra incentives to Gamestop staff to push the PS3. For the top store in a region the manager is being given 30,000 reward points (yeah we don’t know what they are) and if …

No Final Fantasy for Xbox 360 … period

By Gavin Mannion
June 6, 2007 - 18 years ago

Square Enix has come out and detroyed the hopes and dreams of all the Xbox 360 owners out there. Okay maybe just the Xbox 360 owners out there who wanted this game… Okay just Bob in the corner then. Anyway back to the point, they have clearly stated that there is nothing planned for the Xbox 360 at all. Nothing, …

Forza Motorsport 2 launched in South Africa

By Gavin Mannion
June 6, 2007 - 18 years ago

Craig Nicholson is one lucky bugger… He was personally invited along with Werner (www.xbox-360.co.za) and Devon (www.thexboxlounge.co.za) to the local launch of Forza 2 at the Kyalami race track. It sounds like they had an awesome time, yeah I’m actually just to jealous to write much about it. Follow the link to read about all the details… 🙁 PS: If …

By Gavin Mannion
June 6, 2007 - 18 years ago

It seems like the 360 is slowly slowly making itself known in Japan. After the relative success of Blue Dragon and Gears of War Microsoft have now had another titles hit number 1 in the land of the rising sun. Granted it only stayed at number 1 for a day but it’s progress…. Link to 360’s Eternal Sonata briefly …

By Gavin Mannion
June 6, 2007 - 18 years ago

Will anything ever stop the Wii? The latest sales results from Amazon.com are out and once again the Wii is trouncing everything else. While the Xbox 360 (19th) and PS3 (27th) sold less this week the Wii once again increased sales and is now 5th in the computer and video games department. So what is is that is outselling everything? The Wii nunchuck at …

Christmas 2007 to change gaming forever

By Gavin Mannion
June 6, 2007 - 18 years ago

Gameplayer.com has a very nice article about how this Christmas is going to be completely different for gamers than any other… This will be the first Christmas with 3 consoles on the market without a clear winner, not to mention the huge amount of new IP’s which are coming out this year. Obviously we expect some of the big names to clean …

Mad Tracks – Review

By Gavin Mannion
June 5, 2007 - 18 years ago

Eurogamer.net has a nice review of Mad Tracks. Well nice from the customer point of view. Really really bad from the developers point of view. In 2 pages I don’t think I saw a single compliment, or good thing at all. Eventually they seemed to be trying to come up with the most original ways to say the game sucked… …
