As some of you may know I do enjoy my beer, and luckily for me every year at the Cape Town-based Kelvin Grove a mini-festival is held that boasts some superb and unusual beers and wines. I say unusual as many of the beers are small-craft beers that you can’t readily find in the local supermarkets. I managed to find …

Ranking the truly awful Street League intros of Need For Speed Payback

By Darryn Bonthuys

in :  Features, Gaming

Need For Speed Payback is a game built around the most cringe-worthy of dialogue, quotes so shockingly cheesy that your eyeballs are in danger of rolling out of your head with enough force to puncture your skull. Nowhere else in the game is that fact more apparent than in the Street Leagues. You’re racing around the city of Silver Rock to gain allies, leaders of gangs who each operate according to a certain discipline and spout out lines that reads like bad fan fiction.

Alien Resurrection was slammed on release, earning many a negative review and sending the franchise into cryosleep for years after release. Call of Duty: WWII review – Riveting, entertaining and at times hard-hitting

By Miklós Szecsei

Call of Duty: WWII is a great entry into the long-running series. Sledgehammer has done a fantastic job in creating a Call of Duty that will appeal to contemporary fans and those fans who might have favourable memories of earlier games in the series. It often walks a fine line between thoughtful representation of World War II and typical Call of Duty flamboyance, but it’s a line that Sledgehammer walks with confidence. The result is a Call of Duty that feels assured of what it’s trying to accomplish, and what it accomplishes is riveting, entertaining and at times hard-hitting.
