If there’s one thing that weekends were designed for, it’s going to go see a new movie with your loved one. Or your friends. Oh hell, just go watch with yourself then. Nicolas Cage used voodoo to prepare for Ghost Rider role

By Kervyn Cloete
January 30, 2012 - 14 years ago

On a scale of 1 to “Holy crap, hide your bunnies and get the straight jacket!”, Nicolas Cage is certainly right up there. The actor’s dementia has been pretty well documented. But looking at an interview that he recently gave Empire Online about his upcoming Ghost Rider sequel, it’s quite clear that he has finally lost whatever scraps of sanity he …

Steely-eyed actor Neil McDonough spoke to IMDB about his role in FX’s critically acclaimed TV series, Justified. However, during the interview, he also gave an update on the next wave of Marvel movies. Ferris Bueller returns

By Darryn Bonthuys
January 27, 2012 - 14 years ago

Remember Ferris Buellers’ day off? It’s a classic film from the eighties featuring a young Matthew Broderick as he engages in maximum truancy, while being pursued by a relentless school principal. Now, it appears that the master of hooky has returned. For about ten seconds. In a short clip for an advert. Bear with me here, because of Broderick is …

Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly get ready to become 'Writers'

By Darryn Bonthuys
January 27, 2012 - 14 years ago

Two of my favourite, and under-utilised actors are back on the scene, as negotiations are under-way for the two to appear in a drama film about complicated relationships, under the name of The Writers. Helmed by first time director Josh Boone, the film will see Kinnear and Connelly take on all kinds of crazy emotional issues, with many a tear drop …

By Noelle Adams

It’s all about choice this weekend at South African cinemas. You want it, you got it – whether it be a Christian values drama, sci-fi horror, a cheerfully nostalgic musical (with puppets) for the whole family, a pedigreed biopic about a controversial statesman, a vigilante thriller or even an award-winning psychological drama based on an award-winning novel. Courageous: Wholesome indie …
