Chew, the best comic book series about a psychic food detective you've ever read. At FanCon last weeek, I got the chance to sit down with Layman and chewed the fat with him over the series. Here’s part one of what he had to say, which needless to say has a TON of spoilers below.

Batman: The Abduction is still a goofy dark knight tale with a great twist

By Darryn Bonthuys
April 26, 2017 - 8 years ago

Aliens. Are they out there? Is intelligent life in our cosmos possible, or are we the result of a singular flip of the coin that has yet to be repeated within our universe? These are questions that many people ask every day, delving into Fermi paradoxes and the like to find the truth. It’s a question that Batman has never had to ask. Until now.

By Darryn Bonthuys
April 25, 2017 - 8 years ago

Fresh off of the events of The Clone Conspiracy, Peter Parker has a brand new headache to deal with. Two actually, as Doctor Octopus is once again walking around in a body comprised of Parker DNA and is ready to strike back as the Superior Doc Ock. He’s not the only threat on the horizon however, as Norman Osborn is also plotting his revenge. A revenge that has seen him purge the Goblin formula from his system entirely and becomes a far more cunning and dangerous adversary than ever before in the Osborn Identity.

Marvel Legacy will return “hope, wonder, enjoyment and fun” to the house of ideas

By Darryn Bonthuys
April 24, 2017 - 8 years ago

Recently, Marvel’s core trinity has been anything but Heroic. Thor lost his hammer and charm, Captain America has staged a coup de grace on the United States and Tony Stark is currently enjoying a nice coma nap thanks to the events of Civil War II. Marvel Legacy looks set to rectify all of that, with a “bold new direction” this that will "embrace our roots and move enthusiastically forward".

By Darryn Bonthuys
April 24, 2017 - 8 years ago

Whereas the Rebirth initiative was a tonal reboot for the entire pantheon of DC Comics heroes and villains, it wasn’t a proper reboot. It wasn’t Crisis on Infinite Earths or Zero Hour: Crisis In Time. The New 52 universe was still the prime reality for Superman and pals. Until now that is.

Sweet Cyttorak, look at this Play Arts Kai Doctor Strange

By Darryn Bonthuys
April 21, 2017 - 8 years ago

Before 2016, Doctor Strange was either a fringe character that few people had heard of or the name of that family physician who really liked asking you to turn your head and “cough please”. It’s 2017 though, and everybody knows just who Earth’s sorcerer supreme really is. Or they wouldn’t be surprised to see Boilerdang Crimpysnitch Rinkydink Curdlesnoot Blubberwhale Cheddarcheese …
