Blitzway has the perfect ride for your Ghostbusters collection

By Darryn Bonthuys
November 30, 2017 - 8 years ago

While the chances of you ever owning a proper full-scale replica of the Ecto-1 car from Ghostbusters are slim to none (Unless you have around $50 000 to tempt a collector with), getting your hands on one-sixth scale replica is a tad bit easier, albeit equally pricy alternative.

So now it’s time for one last shot at teaming up as our heroes head “down under” – ahem, to Australia – in search of Woody’s one true DNA match. Like father, like son? Let’s hope not.

Dead or alive, this new Robocop figure is coming with me

By Darryn Bonthuys
November 27, 2017 - 8 years ago

Medicom’s MAFEX Robocop then, might be the perfect middle ground between detailed and accessible. Check it out below, or risk doing a 5-10 stretch in the Detroit prison system. Or even worse, being forced to watch Robocop 3.

The end has begun in the first issue of DC’s Doomsday Clock

By Darryn Bonthuys
November 27, 2017 - 8 years ago

For all of its nihilistic themes, Watchmen ended with hope. Hope that a better future would rise one day, as the truth of Adrian “Ozymandias” Veidt’s attempts to force a peaceful coexistence between the people of Earth by uniting them against a new menace, would be revealed by the deceased Rorscharch. That peace did come. It just didn’t last very long at all.

The new Hot Toys Darth Vader figure is impressive, most impressive

By Darryn Bonthuys
November 23, 2017 - 8 years ago

For The Empire Strikes Back, Vader’s outfit was modified ever so slightly to allow for a more brutal warrior to emerge in his duel against Luke Skywalker on Bespin. A Darth Vader who has now been reborn in sixth-scale form that looks impressive. Most impressive.

Your guide to the current state of Wolverine

By Darryn Bonthuys
November 22, 2017 - 8 years ago

Once one of the most popular comic book characters of all time, Wolverine’s been through the ringer and then some. Subjected to horrific experiments, murdered several times over and then getting back up for another fight and more beer, it’s a little bit confusing trying to figure out who the real Wolverine really is these days. Fear not, because we’ve got the cliff notes version below of who’s who in the mutant zoo.

DC is reimagining Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman for the wholesome Milk Wars

By Darryn Bonthuys
November 21, 2017 - 8 years ago

Imagine a universe where the trinity of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman were even more…wholesome. Because that’s the idea that’ll be present in the upcoming JLA/Young Animal: Milk Wars event. Overseen by Gerard Way, the brief event will consist of five one-shots that features the icons taking on RetCo, a corporation that spans across the multiverse and repackages realities to better suit the tastes of their audiences who are watching. RetCo does just that with the trinity of heroes, resulting in the most Americana of reimaginings: Superman is now Milkman-Man, Batman has become the oprhan-adopting padre known as Father Bruce and Wonder Woman has been reduced to the ideal American housewife straight out of the Stepford Wives. Horrifying stuff.

Steve Jobs lives again as a creepily-detailed sixth scale action figure

By Darryn Bonthuys
November 20, 2017 - 8 years ago

When it comes to Apple, Steve Jobs may be the patron saint of that company. The face of a brand that was in danger of collapse and eventually became a technological juggernaut, Steve Jobs was the brains behind the graphical user interface and Xerox can go eat a bag of iPod shuffles if they say anything otherwise. Art! Beauty! Tyranny! Man, Steve Jobs really was a creatively bankrupt dick when you think about it. Which is why he might just be the most perfect sixth-scale villain ever.
