Disney Infinity 3.0 – Wave 1 figure review

By Darryn Bonthuys
September 10, 2015 - 10 years ago

I’m still neck-deep in Disney Infinity 3.0, which is going all-out this year to deliver as much Star Wars content as possible. And honestly, I have no complaints about that. Because while Star Wars may rule the roost this year, there’s still plenty of room for other Disney properties to make a debut. So let’s crack the shells off of these mint-on-card figures, and go play in the toybox!

This Godzilla collectible wants to fight

By Darryn Bonthuys
September 9, 2015 - 10 years ago

Godzilla is a Kaiju that I’d happily have on my shelf. If it was big enough. Here’s a look at the upcoming Sideshow Collectibles Godzilla, while I figure out how to put a big piece of wood onto my wall horizontally.

First Order of business: New Stormtroopers please

By Darryn Bonthuys
September 8, 2015 - 10 years ago

Stormtroopers! They can’t aim worth a damn as even on the best of days they’ve got the marksman skills of a tree stump in a coma. Thing is, the Star Wars galaxy would be a lot less entertaining without a few legions of cannon fodder running around in their nice shiny white uniforms. Stormtroopers are about as disposable as nappies …

Take a look at all the Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys

By Darryn Bonthuys
September 4, 2015 - 10 years ago

Moichendisin’! Disney looks set to start making some serious coin on Star Wars this year, when Episode 7: The Force Awakens in December. And that’s a brilliant date for a Star Wars movie to release. Why? Because Star Wars is the kind of franchise that was built on merchandising.

Shine on you crazy Diamond Dog collectible

By Darryn Bonthuys
August 31, 2015 - 10 years ago

Metal Gear Solid also happens to be one of the most bat-sh*t crazy games ever made. And nowhere else in the entire saga of that franchise, is that madness better summed up than when you encounter Diamond Dog. Or his toy replica. SO CUTE!

You need to keep both eyes open for this Nick Fury figure

By Darryn Bonthuys
August 27, 2015 - 10 years ago

The Avengers was a movie filled with heroes. But when it came down to leadership, only the baddest mother-lover around could keep Earth’s mightiest mortals in check. Now imagine all of that authority, in a sixth-scale format.

Gene Yang’s Avatar series “Smoke and Shadow” details the legacy of Zuko

By Darryn Bonthuys
August 26, 2015 - 10 years ago

The third time's the charm, as the latest Avatar: The Last Airbender comic details the legacy that Fire Lord Zuko leaves behind. And possibly the origin of the Cabbage Cart man. Or probably not. MY CABBAGES!

The Batman dies tonight, according to this Arkham Knight collectible

By Darryn Bonthuys
August 20, 2015 - 10 years ago

As far as antagonists go, the Arkham Knight had a cool look to his design. Sleek, military and with a helmet that was equal parts tactical and Daft Punk tribute. And that was cool! But this collectible may be even cooler.

August 17, 2015 - 10 years ago

Hot Toys have a sixth-scale replica of the feared Mandalorian on the way. Here’s a look at the bucket-head in all his Wookie-hunting glory, which includes some desert Sarlacc Pit action.

Disney Interactive lets go of some revenue in latest quarter

By Zoe Hawkins
August 5, 2015 - 10 years ago

Disney makes a ridiculous amount of money. But it's their toys-to-life offering that we find the most interesting, even if it isn't making as much cash as expected.
